SCBC REPRESENTED AT STATE CHESS FINAL

On Thursday 15th September nineteen students represented SCBC in a State Chess Competition as members of a Primary team and a Secondary team. The competition was held at Perth Modern School. Each student played nine games over the course of the day. The competition was tough, especially for our first time attendees.

Congratulations to our Primary and Secondary team members for representing us well.  Whilst we didn’t qualify for a placing, we certainly put in our best efforts with Primary only one point away from placing third!

Best individual performances:

Primary:  Carson Richardson (Year 5) & Laura Brewer (Year 6) ranked 18th and 19th respectively in the individual rankings list.

Secondary:  Sherjeel Ahmad (Year 9) ranked 13th in the individual rankings list.

All the students thoroughly enjoyed their day and are looking forward to honing their skills further in the years to come.
