Dear Parents,

NEW GROWTHNEW BUILDINGSNEW OPPORTUNITIES

It’s very exciting to share with you that Stage 1A, of a 5-Stage redevelopment plan, is beginning within the next month. It will be finished in December this year.

SCBC STEM BUILDING

For the 3rd year in a row, we have grown by 100 additional students.

We started planning for this current season of growth 6 years ago, by establishing a Master Building Plan to help give our students optimal educational support.

The building you can see has been designed to help optimize student achievement in Science Technology Enterprise and Mathematics (STEM).

SCBC is at the front edge of a worldwide focus in STEM education. We are focussed on equipping our students to be creative, skilled problem solvers.

As a means of further resourcing staff to make optimal use of the STEM provision, an SCBC leadership team is traveling to the United States with other members of the Australian Association of Independent Schools, to participate in Master Classes with arguably one of the world’s most eminent leaders in enterprise education.

It is our intention to bring back insights gained from professional learning and related school visits to continue adding value to the educational experiences of students at SCBC.

With the achievement of our students in focus, SCBC is intentionally benchmarking against best practice schools locally, nationally and internationally.

In the midst of our practical planning is the sharing of our personal faith along the journey. Most recently I listened to one of our secondary staff, Ms. Heather McGavock shares insights of her childhood at a fortnightly Chapel service. She spoke about how her own personal faith in Jesus has lovingly shaped how she see’s and understands relationships, especially within families. God’s perfect love is unconditional and always reliable. His love is her inspiration.

We have much to look forward to: ‘For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.’ (Jeremiah 29:11)
