WACCSA INTERSCHOOL AFL COMPETITION & NETBALL CARNIVAL

It has been a busy and fun few weeks for the Primary school with our students competing in multiple interschool carnivals. On the 12th of May, we had 18 boys and 18 girls, from Grades 5 and 6 represent our College at the WACCSA Interschool AFL competition, up in Middle Swan. It has been a number of years since we competed in the AFL carnival, and our students played so well throughout the entire day. The majority of our girls had never played football before, but had trained hard in the weeks leading up to the competition and ended up in the grand final that day, unfortunately losing in a hard fought game. Therefore finishing 2nd overall, which is a fantastic effort! Our boys team also played extremely well, going the whole day undefeated and winning their final with a convincing win. So to have our 2 teams finish 1st and 2nd is a tremendous effort.

This past Friday, the 26th of May we had 3 teams of Year 5 and 6 girls attend the WACCSA Interschool Netball Carnival in Fremantle. With 28 teams attending the day, it was a huge turnout and a great day. It was a particularly big effort from our Year 6 girls, who left camp early to attend and finished 3rd in Division A. We were fortunate enough to have 2 Year 5 teams in both A and B Division, who played extremely well throughout the day, and also both finished 3rd. I was very proud of the sportsmanship and wonderful attitudes that all our girls displayed during the day.

We would just like to thank all of the staff, parents, family and friends who have attended of our carnivals. In many cases, they have had to travel to distant locations to come and watch, but your presence has been invaluable. Thank you for your continued support.
