YEAR 11 VISUAL ART

Students in Year 11 Visual Art were tasked with creating a piece of art in any medium which conveyed the message of “Unique – as individual as you”. Natasha chose to use a map based collage self-portrait which used maps of her home City of Manchester as the main parts of her face and the buildings of Manchester as her hair. The background is made of tape measures which show Natasha’s love of dressmaking/costume design and her ‘measuring’ personality. Qarin took a completely different approach working on specially cut glass panels in both acrylic and glass paint to produce a two dimensional painting which cleverly uses all three dimensions – mounted on a block of uncut wood. Her images depict her unique friendship with another student at the school and her friends quirky personality.
