NAIDOC WEEK

From July 3rd to 7th we celebrated NAIDOC week, participating in indigenous art and craft activities, dancing to indigenous music, listening to Dream Time stories and wearing red yellow and black, the colours of the Aboriginal flag. We ran activities on indigenous symbols in art used to tell stories and traced these out in sand, these symbols being taught to us by one of our children’s grandparents who visited to share with us her culture and language. This week of celebrations was enjoyed by all ages and was a great success.
