This Friday two teams of SCBC students will compete in the Solar Car Challenge Competition at UWA.  Student where tasked with the challenge of designing a solar car that included a 1L milk carton and a specified solar panel and electric engine.  The incomplete design of one of our teams is shown in the photograph.  It’s wing shape includes struts designed on the computer and are cut out of balsa wood using a laser cutter.  It’s wheels where also designed on the computer and printed using a 3D printer.  The total weight of the car is expected to be 89 grams.  We wish all of our teams the best of luck for the competition.
