KWINANA INDUSTRIES i-DIVERSITY PROJECT 2017

At the beginning of term 4 Year 9 student Liam Treacy completed the Kwinana Industries Project. It was a fantastic project and much was learnt by all students.   Confidence was gained and students had many opportunities to shine. The program included many activities, such as team building exercises, resume writing and interview skills.  A visit to the BP Refinery gave students an insight into what careers are available at the conclusion of their schooling.

The Fremantle Port Visit was a highlight and the students had a trip on the Emergency Response Boat and a tour of the Leeuwin, Western Australia’s very own tall ship. There was an opportunity to a win a scholarship on the Leeuwin during the January holidays for one of the students, for which they had to apply.

The students also completed a day work experience. Liam greatly enjoyed his work experience which was tree planting at Kwinana Beach. Together students in this workplace planted over 250 spinifex plants in 2 hours.

The program finished with a graduation ceremony and included participation from all students.  Graduation Certificates were awarded.
