IN THE CLASSROOM – PRE-PRIMARY 3 WITH MRS DE WET

This term our class has been working on a project inspired by ‘Nature and our Community’. We have been exploring our community in different ways such as a walk to Harrington waters in Waikiki, an excursion to Lake Richmond in Rockingham and looking at living things we find here at school, on the excursions and at home.

This Project has enabled us to integrate many different areas of the curriculum in our learning as we look at maps, birds-eye views, nature, and insects we find around us, the community here in Waikiki as well as our wider community. It has also sparked some interest on why we see rubbish lying around, and why and how we can and should look after nature and our environment.

We have discovered so much and have had a lot of fun with this project and we look forward to seeing how it develops as we re-launch some of the students’ ideas and wonderings in Term 2.
