YEAR 8 BEACH ACTIVITY DAY

On Monday, 19th March our Year 8 classes headed down to Palm Beach for a whole day social activity day. This year the weather was perfect for the occasion with clear skies and warm weather.

The purpose of the day was to give students an opportunity to spend time with each other and their form teachers in a fun and relaxed environment which hopefully strengthened relationships with each other and the school.

Students were placed into four groups and engaged in activities ranging from kayaking, drumming, jumping off the jetty, and some team building games on the beach. Students were also treated with a sausage in a bun and a can of soft drink for lunch.

Here is what some of the students had to say about the event:

“ I loved the kayaking rotation seeing as it was my last rotation I got to enjoy the ride with Ms Phoebe and my friends. I also got to help put the kayaks and paddles away.”

Genevieve McTaggart

“I liked the day overall it was really fun and I loved spending time with my friends and doing the activity were really fun. My favourite was the jetty jumping or the kayaking.”

Emily Forbes

The best part of the day was when we all jumped off the top of the jetty and swam to the pontoon.
