On Thursday, 18th March, 13 aspiring young writers from across our Year 6 classes took part in a series of workshops run by published Australian author Deborah Abela.
Mrs Laura Cooper and the students thoroughly enjoyed the day and ideas that were explored as we made our way through narrative writing sessions that included ‘Compelling Characters,’ ‘Perilous Plots’ and ‘Wonderful World Building.’
In the words of some of our students:
‘I can’t wait to start writing my story but I feel like it needs to be a series now because I have so much I want to write!’
‘It didn’t feel like we did 6 sessions – it went so fast because she was cool to listen to. I need to borrow the Grimsdon series from the library, those books sound epic!’
