For the first time in College history, South Coast Baptist College students took to hourglass reserve in their bright spirit and colours to compete at the annual Inter-house Athletics Carnival.
Each House Team was separated and intensely thrown into the first event soon on arrival. It was amazing to see the level of expertise from some of our senior students, with Paige Vos executing the Javelin throw of the century and James Campbell with an incredible jump over the bar. Every participant put all they had into every event, and it was a great watch!
It was heart-warming to see not only each participant in their events but the support they would receive from their fellow housemates and friends from the sidelines, as well as the encouragement of all the teachers and helpers of the day.
The novelty area was great entertainment watching the sack races and lower years screaming and clawing at each other in the tug of war! Even when the rain came pouring down, the day’s spirit did not break.
It was a brilliant day with some fantastic races and relays, and everyone seemed to have a good day! In the end, Widi won the Carnival, taking the Athletics Cup home.
