On Monday, 22nd August, 7 teams of Secondary Students participated in the Write A Book In A Day Competition.
Students had 12hrs to write and illustrate a 3500-5000 word book aimed at a teenage audience. They were given parameters including characters, a setting and key issue to creatively include these in their text. As well as being a great opportunity to work collaboratively and demonstrate their writing skills, the event’s main aim was to raise money for the Kids’ Cancer Project.
Collectively our teams were able to raise $3,600, such an excellent example of their compassionate hearts! The books will also be published in an online library that children in Australian hospitals can access to entertain them through their treatment.
