And so, we are finally here. The completion of the educational journey of our Year 12 students and their final days at South Coast Baptist College.
To commemorate the end of the journey for our Year 12’s, the final week of Term 3 had numerous celebratory events. This started with a Year 12 Fancy Dress Day on Monday, 19th September 2022, with numerous teachers also getting involved with the festivities. The final day that the entire cohort would be at school was Friday, 23rd September 2022. This day begun with a farewell breakfast in the foyer of M block, where staff and students were treated to a sumptuous breakfast, prepared and served by the Year 11 Hospitality students and Mr Hywood. This was followed by the Final Year 12 Assembly, where students and staff were able to reflect on their time at SCBC. The Secondary students then formed a guard of honour to farewell the Year 12’s as they exited the school for the last time. Students then travelled to the Rockingham foreshore to continue a SCBC tradition of fish and chips on the beach followed by jumping from the jetty to celebrate the end of 12 years of schooling.
The formal Valedictory Dinner and Ceremony was held on Monday, 17th October 2022, in the Platinum Room of the Peel Football Club. Students were presented to Mr Mitchell to receive their Graduation Certificate and student achievement was recognised through various awards. Dwayne Coetzer is to be congratulated for being named the Year 12 Dux for 2022, well done Dwayne!
