‘…let us run with patience the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus the author and perfecter of our faith…’ (Hebrews 12: 1-2 ASV, Bible.com).
Wow! What a journey for our Year 7 students! They have successfully achieved all that Year 7 had to offer and have run the race, with great patience. At the start of the year they played the Amazing Race game as part of the Launch into Year 7 Day. Since then, they have run the race of Year 7 and have successfully transitioned into the Secondary College. They have overcome many challenges and obstacles along the way; their determination to succeed has been evidenced in everything they have done.
Both the Year 7 Form Teachers and myself have enjoyed working with them and encouraging them throughout the year. It has been a privilege to watch them grow in independence and character. We feel they have achieved an amazing journey.
In the last week of Term, we will be providing the students with a special pizza lunch to celebrate their success. Thank you, Year 7’s, for all your work!
To finish off, we would like to feature a few Year 7 reflections from our Boodalang Form:
This year I enjoyed making new friends. I enjoyed the House Week games because I got to participate in my favourite sport – Basketball (Bump). The Athletics Carnival was a highlight too. We had a range of sports to do. They were exciting, and it was great to see students and staff helping.Sasha Bolton
Year 7 was a very interesting and exciting year. It had a lot of ups and downs but as you persevere you get to understand it better. There were a lot of fun things to do for example the sports carnival. The sports carnival really encouraged us to make new relationships with other people in our houses. Overall, Year 7 was a good year.George Lempriere
This year in Year 7 I had a really fun time. I had some ups and downs with a few friends, but we sorted them out. My best memory from this year is Year 7 Camp and the Sport Carnivals. Camp was amazing because it was great to see and experience some places that we haven’t before, hanging out with our friends, seeing some animals and having fun with the teachers. The different carnivals were fun. We have some competitive people in our year. The AFL girls team did well in their competition and I enjoyed it.Bailey Johnstone
Year 7 has been a real roller coaster for me with its difficulties, but I managed to keep my head high and keep going and I encourage you to do the same. Overall Year Seven was fun with camp and the sports carnival was so much fun. I cannot wait to see where Year Eight is going to take me.Noah Fawkes
