Year 9 Students | Exploring the World of Building and Construction: A Career Taster Day

The building and construction industry stands as a cornerstone of modern society, shaping the skylines of our cities and providing essential infrastructure. Students curious about a career in this dynamic field, participated in a “Career Taster Day” that provided invaluable insights and inspiration.

A Career Taster Day is designed to offer students, a glimpse into the diverse and exciting world of building and construction. It serves as an interactive platform where students can explore different aspects of the industry, engage with industry experts, and even get their hands dirty with practical experiences.

Workplace Learning Program

Workplace learning is more than just a supplement to classroom education; it’s an essential component of a well-rounded education. Year 11 and 12 students who engage in workplace learning gain valuable skills, explore potential careers, and build connections that can significantly impact their future success.

Kwinana Industry Council iMen & iWomen

In an era where diversity and inclusion are recognized as key drivers of success in the industrial sector, the Kwinana Industry Council (KIC) is taking bold steps to promote gender diversity with its iWomen and iMen program. This pioneering initiative is designed to empower young individuals in the industrial field and create a more inclusive workplace for all.

The KIC iMen and iWomen Project is held in Term 3. It is targeted towards VET students (Year 10s). During the program students visited a range of industries and met employees in many roles. Kwinana industry is committed to engaging students in the workforce and providing an opportunity for them to see what industry really looks like. Students attended several workshops that will give them valuable skills and tools required to prepare them for their place in the workforce.
