We are excited to share that several engaging activities have been planned for the coming months. The children at Minasan are constantly learning and expanding their knowledge across a variety of subjects. For instance, during NAIDOC Week, they deepened their understanding of diversity and the importance of Indigenous and Torres Strait Islander cultures. The children made flags and learned about the significance of the colours and symbols, fostering a sense of cultural awareness.
Even though the Kindy group knew the outcome of our Science Week experiments, their enthusiasm remained high, especially during the volcano experiment. Dental Week also contributed to Science Week, with a focus on the importance of good oral hygiene. The children learned that maintaining healthy teeth is closely linked to eating a balanced diet, reinforcing the idea that good habits start with healthy choices.
An especially effective program this term has been Ready for Magic, designed to enhance children’s reading comprehension, public speaking, and overall literacy skills. The program empowers children to speak confidently in front of an audience, and after sharing their favourite books, they have the opportunity to engage in follow-up discussions with their peers, sharpening their communication skills.
On a recent pupil-free day, the children hosted their very own mini-Olympics, guided by the impressive leadership and sportsmanship of Noah, Flyn, and Maddison. The children thrived within the structure and boundaries set by these young leaders, making the event not only fun but also unforgettable. Their ability to demonstrate such skills at a young age is truly remarkable.
