Term 4’s crowning achievement is the close relationship between educators and students. We had many in-depth discussions about our interests, and the freedom to express ourselves in forums and group meetings was a highlight. Collaboration as a team was emphasised, with participation in both planned and spontaneous activities, brainstorming sessions, and morning icebreakers led by educators.
Kindy and pre-primary students progress in number sequences, letter tracing, number filling, and construction using blocks, Legos, wooden shapes, and other materials was impressive. They developed positive social, emotional, and physical skills through daily indoor and outdoor activities.
Older students (Years 1-6) learned to manage groups of people. Educators periodically assign different leaders to specific tasks to help them develop leadership and active listening skills. Leaders assisted educators in calming the classroom during obstacles and problems and designed strategies to be listened to by other learners, fostering effective group living.
Our favourite outdoor pastimes included the sea saw, cubby house, and ball games. Many children enjoyed running, exploring, and engaging in these activities. The resources from the previous term pleased and satisfied the Minasan children. They also participated in dramatic play, acting out roles such as chef or customer and creatively creating their menus while serving imaginative cuisine at the Cubby House.
As we move into the Christmas season, the Vacation Care Team is excited to bring an action-packed program for all to enjoy. Please look out for the holiday flyer!
