Year 9 Film Students Win! Rock the Boat Film Festival

The Rock the Boat Film Festival, an inclusive platform celebrating emerging filmmakers and storytellers of all ages, recently concluded its third season.

We are thrilled to announce that our Year 9 Film students won the schools category with their final instalment, “The Lift III: Realities Unravelled,” completing an impressive trilogy of award-winning student-made films. Natalia Martin, one of the key editors and cinematographers, was there to collect the award on behalf of the College.

In this concluding chapter, the theme of alternate realities is resolved as the characters from different realities come together to face their challenges. The students worked together through every stage of the filmmaking process, from brainstorming and scriptwriting to filming and post-production. They maintained continuity with the previous films while adding new elements to keep the audience engaged.

The success of “The Lift III: Realities Unravelled” showcases the students’ growing skills in filmmaking and their ability to handle complex themes. Winning at the Rock the Boat Film Festival is a proud achievement for them, marking a fitting end to this trilogy of films.
