GATE Students Embark on an Exciting Adventure at Fox in a Box Escape Rooms
An exhilarating excursion to Fox in a Box Escape Rooms provided our Year 7-10 GATE students with a unique opportunity to prepare for the upcoming Da Vinci Decathlon Competition.
The primary goal of this excursion was to challenge students to push beyond their own expectations and develop essential skills in a fun and experiential learning environment. Each year group tackled challenges relevant to their age and skill level, ensuring an appropriate level of difficulty and engagement.
The students had the opportunity to choose from several themed escape rooms, including:
- Prisonbreak: A thrilling adventure where students had to escape from a high-security prison.
- Cold War Bunker: A historical challenge set during the Cold War, requiring students to defuse a nuclear threat.
- Wild West: A saloon-themed challenge where students had to crack the gold safe and escape before the sheriff got back in town.
- Mastermind – A Heist Story: A cunning heist where students had to outsmart security systems and steal valuable artifacts.
- Tesla’s Mystery: A scientific puzzle where students had to uncover the secrets of Nikola Tesla’s inventions.
The students thoroughly enjoyed the immersive and interactive nature of the escape rooms. They worked collaboratively, employing critical thinking, creativity, and teamwork to solve complex puzzles and complete their missions.
This hands-on experience not only prepared them for various disciplines of the Da Vinci Decathlon but also fostered a sense of camaraderie and excitement among the participants for what lay ahead in our GATE Program.
