Outdoor Ed Y9

As many of you know, we were all set for an exciting camp experience—but unfortunately, nature had other plans. Due to forecasted thunderstorms, the camp had to be cancelled for safety reasons. While we were disappointed at first, we didn’t let the weather dampen our spirits!

Instead, we had two awesome day excursions that turned out to be just as memorable.

On Thursday, we headed out to the beautiful Nanga area in Dwellingup for a 5-kilometre hike. The weather was perfect—cool, clear, and just right for hiking. The scenery was stunning, with tall trees, fresh air, and plenty of time to chat and enjoy the outdoors. It was a great way to connect with nature and each other.

Then on Friday, we switched things up with some indoor adventure. We went rock climbing and bouldering, which was a lot of fun and a great challenge. Whether students were speed climbing the walls or just giving it a go for the first time, everyone had a blast. After working up an appetite, we stopped for lunch at Hungry Jack’s and McDonald’s—there was no better way to end a day of climbing than with fries and burgers.

So, while we didn’t get the full camp experience we were expecting, we still made some great memories, had a lot of laughs, and tried new things together.
