Our Year 2 and Year 3 students had a fantastic time recently when author and educator Kristy Nita Brown visited our school, delivering her energetic and inspiring workshop Whistle While You Write. Kristy took students on a creative storytelling adventure, showing them how sounds and rhythm can bring their writing to life. With her signature mix of humour, movement and imagination, she had everyone engaging and thinking about writing their own books as well as self-publishing at a young age like how she started. The highlight? Students made their own kazoos and explored how sound can be a powerful tool in storytelling and had fun together at the end blowing their kazoos and forming a lovely choir of music in the hall.
