On the evening of Thursday, 7th August, the Year Seven students swapped their school uniforms for flannel shirts, jeans, and country hats to attend our Year Seven Bush Dance. The Year Seven Student Leadership team prepared the hall with themed decorations before everyone arrived.
The evening began with lots of pizza which gave everyone the opportunity to gather the necessary energy to participate in the night’s activities.
Our incredible hosts, the Pioneer Bush Band ensured the evening came alive with traditional bush tunes and rhythms. They also taught the dances ensuring that all the students knew what to do.
Prizes were awarded for best dressed attendees, while the pre-event competitions; “Guess the Lollies in the Jar & What was Mr Winkler’s number” where also drawn.
A bush themed café ran throughout the night, offering snacks such as scones and chocolate wagon wheels along with hot chocolate drinks.
A photo booth was frequented by the students adding to their opportunity to enjoy the evening with their friends.
The Café & competitions raised over $300 for the Salvation Red Shield Appeal.
We would like to say a big thank you to the Year Seven Student Leaders for organising this fun event, along with all the amazing staff who volunteered their time and energy to help make it happen.
Thank you, Year Seven’s for, attending and having lots of country fun with us!
