Learn Cybersecurity skills with our Ethical Hacking Co-curricular Activity

For our sixth year, we are pleased to offer secondary school students an engaging opportunity to delve into the critical and fascinating field of cybersecurity through our “Ethical Hacking” co-curricular activity. Running for one hour after school each week in Term 2 and part of Term 3, this program provides students with practical experience in a range of essential cybersecurity concepts.

Participants will explore weekly topics such as cryptography (the science of secure communication), understanding web exploits and common vulnerabilities, uncovering hidden information through steganography, mastering OSINT (Open-Source Intelligence) for digital investigation, basic reverse engineering, and the principles of digital forensics (investigating cyber incidents). Students will not only learn about these crucial areas but also develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills vital for navigating the digital world.

The program includes two competitive Capture The Flag (CTF) competitions: Cyber Glitch at Murdoch University for Years 7-10, and PECAN+ at Edith Cowan University for Years 9-12. These events provide an excellent platform for students to apply their knowledge in a dynamic, competitive, and educational environment. We also have a number of optional online CTF challenges students can engage in.

Encourage your child to join us and gain invaluable insights into protecting digital information and understanding modern technology.
