This term in the studio has been excellent, with a new layout for the room necessitated by the new flooring being installed. We have an outdoor painting area that the kids have been thoroughly enjoying, and we’ve added a few more musical instruments, including a nice, big, donated keyboard. With one less classroom, I’ve also had much more time to spend with our Bambini children doing loads of messy painting and some bubble play as well as lots of exploration of musical instruments and the Minasan children have returned to morning studio visits, doing some excellent work, a little 3D sculpting, loads of drawing and painting and tons of noisy music making. Our Koorlongka kids have continued with the computer mouse skilling they started last year as well as lots of ongoing box construction, we’ve had lots of shadow play, role play cooking with bubbles and beads with our Kodomo kids and Pikaninis and they’ve also taken an interest in creating with our scanner, (with some help from me to operate it, creating some interesting arrangements of various objects on the scanner plate). A great start to the year for sure.
