Double Glory for SCBC: Kings and Panthers Crowned Summer Grand Final Champions

SCBC Basketball had plenty to celebrate on 2 April 2025, with two teams claiming thrilling Grand Final victories in front of excited and supportive crowds.

The action began with the Under 12 SCBC Panthers, who secured the B Grade Grand Final title after a closely contested match against Living Waters Lions Green, finishing 38–32. The Panthers displayed great resilience, teamwork, and composure under pressure to come away with a well-deserved win. The team is coached by Dan Elliott, with Kate Fawkes supporting as Team Manager.

The celebrations continued with the Under 14 SCBC Kings, who delivered another outstanding performance to claim the A Grade Division 2 Grand Final, defeating Scorpions Black 55–40. Showing confidence, control, and excellent teamwork throughout the match, the Kings capped off a strong season in style. This victory is particularly special, as it marks back‑to‑back Grand Final wins, with the team also claiming the championship in A Grade last season. The Kings are coached by Richard Vos, with Sarah Vos as Team Manager.

We are incredibly proud of both teams for their dedication, effort, and sportsmanship throughout the season. A sincere thank you goes to all our coaches, team managers, volunteers, and families, whose ongoing support and commitment are at the heart of SCBC Basketball’s success. These achievements are a wonderful reflection of the strong community and culture we continue to build together.
