This term in the studio, we’ve been gifted a couple of new keyboards, which the children are enjoying. We’ve also been able to use hooked up to our music software, (Fruity Loops and Cubase).
We’ve made a whole lot of turtles for World Turtle Day, done endless painting and collage work on donated card, and created cardboard dinosaurs, cats, dogs and butterflies using our Chomp Saw, (kid safe jigsaw for cutting card). We also created scenes and backgrounds for these.
As always, we’ve been practising our drumming and strumming skills, done lots of role-play cooking with real and pretend ingredients, constructing with nuts and bolts, hammer and nails, and exploring shadows and light using a digital projector and overhead projector, along with some of our cardboard cut-outs and stencils.
We’ve also been doing a lot of digital artwork using Microsoft Paint, Paint 3D and Autodesk Sketchbook. The older children have been developing their computer mouse skills, while the younger kids have been using touchscreen drawing tablets.
