Our Year 5 Mathematics Extension students have officially begun the MAWA Online Maths Competition for Term 3, putting their problem-solving skills, mathematical reasoning, and perseverance to the test.

Conducted by the Mathematical Association of Western Australia (MAWA) and endorsed by the Australian Association of Mathematics Teachers (AAMT), the competition is designed to foster mathematical problem-solving among students from Years 3 to 10 across Australia.

The competition consists of three rounds, each featuring 10 challenging questions that students must complete within one hour. Success requires much more than computation alone, with students called upon to apply logic, reasoning, strategic thinking, and creative approaches to solve complex problems.
