Pikanini 2 Room Term 3

We have had a fun, action-packed Term 3 in Pikanini 2!! There have been plenty of opportunities to learn, create, and celebrate some wonderful events together.

Our friends had a fantastic time learning all about farming and animals for Farm Safety Week. We discussed how to stay safe on a farm and engaged in some hands-on activities, like creating fun tractor paintings using truck wheels and even painting piggies in the mud!

In honour of School Tree Day and National Tree Day, we planted seeds and painted paper trees. It was a wonderful way to connect with nature and learn about the importance of taking care of the environment. Naidoc Week was full of fun and learning! We made Aboriginal flags, sang traditional Aboriginal songs, and enjoyed reading Aboriginal stories. It was a beautiful week of cultural exploration and discovery. We celebrated Jeans for Genes Day by wearing our favourite jeans and creating some fun, crafty projects. It was a day full of creativity and support for a great cause!

Book Week is always a highlight on our calendar, and this fun-filled week fell into this term. Our educators dressed up every day as different storybook characters, and many of our friends joined in. We have enjoyed an exciting week of dress-up fun for book week and read lots of wonderful stories. It was a great way to celebrate love for reading.

We have celebrated Early Childhood Educators Day as well as R U Ok? Day. We reflected on the importance of looking after our mental health by wearing something yellow and showing appreciation for the wonderful people who support us.

Despite a few chilly and rainy days, the sun has started to shine more, the rain is easing, and the days are getting warmer—perfect for outdoor play and adventures!

It’s been a wonderful term full of learning, fun activities, and special moments. We can’t wait for the next term and all the exciting things it will bring.
