South Coast Baptist College has turned in an excellent performance and achieved the runner-up position in the 13th International Young Physicists Tournament (IYPT) Australia Challenge that was held at Kennedy Baptist College from 1-2 December 2016. SCBC students worked on open-ended questions and debated their findings with teams from other states. They were judged based on their understanding of relevant Physics and their analysis of their opponents’ work.
Shaylah Ryan-Sherriff was invited to be part of the Australian National Team to compete at the international IYPT competition in Singapore in 2017. The team consisting of Shaylah, Chelgrin George Mueller and Crystal John were coached by school science teachers Mr Gideon Choo and Mr Jason Cargill. Two SCBC students had also represented Australia in the previous edition of the competition that was held in Russia.
