Reggio Emilia approach is reaping rewards in Early Learning.

South Coast Baptist College Kindergarten to Year 2 has adopted a Reggio Emilia inspired learning philosophy. This approach has seen an increased engagement with literacy in the early years.

Teachers observe how the children learn and marry this with the children’s interests to create an environment in which students will ask questions and investigate. This is the basis for engaging the children in authentic writing experiences which is used to consolidate the explicitly taught fundamental literacy skills.
