SCBC Year 12 student, Harvey Hancock completed a work placement (during his school holidays) at Austal Ships as part of the WACE subject Workplace Learning.   Unexpectedly, Harvey recently received a phone call from the HR staff at Austal Ships offering him an apprenticeship.   Harvey said that Austal was very understanding of his desire to finish Year 12, and they will hold open a place for him after he graduates.   Harvey is the second student in two years who has been offered employment as the result of participation in Workplace Learning.   Harvey is one of 18 students in Years 11 and 12 that are currently participating in Workplace Learning.   Well done, Harvey!
