Earlier this Term, we ran two days of 50-minute workshops in Visual Arts classes. Students from Year 9 to Year 12 participated. On Monday, 22nd August, 7 teams of Secondary Students participated in the Write A Book In A Day Competition. Students had 12hrs to write and illustrate a 3500-5000 word book aimed at a teenage audience. They were given parameters including characters, a setting and key issue to creatively include these in their text. As well as being a great opportunity to work collaboratively and demonstrate their writing skills, the event’s main aim was to raise money for the Kids’ Cancer Project.
