YEAR 6 CREATIVE WRITING INCURSION

In Week 7 this term, the Year 6 cohort were treated to a visit from author and speaker, Mrs Amanda Viviers. Mrs Viviers spoke to the students about the importance and power of ‘their voice’ as they journey through life. She encouraged students to use their voice and their writing as a means to make a positive difference in the world. Students watched a short clip from Malala Yousafzai’s Nobel Peace Prize Speech and were encouraged that with their education and a pen, no matter what age they are, they have the ability to create change in our world. Students wrote a creative writing letter to their five-year-old self as part of the session and concluded by asking Mrs Viviers all about being an author and speaker. The Year 6 cohort thoroughly enjoyed Mrs Viviers’ inspiring creative writing session.
