PRIMARY SCHOOL ANZAC COMMEMORATIVE ASSEMBLY

On Friday the 28th of April Year 1 to 6 students attended a commemorative ANZAC Assembly.

The Assembly focussed on remembering the sacrifice that may have paid for our freedom in this country, since the 1915 Gallipoli campaign.

Principal Chaplain Yesberg from the Royal Australian Navy Reserve spoke to the students about Lieutenant General Harry Chauvel of the Australian commander of the Desert Mounted Corps. He talked to the students about the legacy that this man left to Australia his family. Principal Chaplain Yesberg also reminded the assembly about the importance of remembering and acknowledging the sacrifice of others. Lieutenant Darrell Wilson from the Salvation Army led the assembly in reflection and one minutes silence with the playing of the Last Post and Reveille.
