DIGITAL MEDIA STUDENTS GET CREATIVE WITH ENGLISH

Our Year 10 Digital Media students were given a taste of the publishing industry at the end of last year, as they designed and created their own book covers for some classic texts. The two most popular designs were selected for production and used to produce our own professionally printed editions for classroom use.

The Digital Media project had strong cross-curricular links with English and sought to engage students while encouraging analytical and creative thinking.  Students considered the content of Animal Farm by George Orwell, and Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare and then utilised digital tools to photograph and edit their own designs.

The results were stunning. A number of very professional covers were offered up for selection, with two high-quality designs being selected for printing. These proudly SCBC-produced editions will be provided to future students when they study these texts in English.
