On Friday, 17th May, 65 Year 10 students, supported by six staff members, visited the Careers Expo at the Perth Convention Centre. The students had unrestricted access to nearly 100 exhibitors ranging from universities, providers of vocational training, and employers. This was a great opportunity to explore career pathways with the Year 11 subject selections now only a month away.
Prior to entering the Expo, the students were given a worksheet to guide their research into their top two preferred career pathways. “It was great to see the diversity of career interests”, said Mr Scott, the Secondary Careers Advisor, after having read through the completed worksheets. “The information will be very useful when it comes to interviewing the students as part of their subject selection process.”
