Early in Term 4, 2021, our Year 9 ODE students participated in their final ODE camp for the year. They spent 2 days and 2 nights in Dwellingup exploring nature through canoeing, mountain biking and learning about the local aboriginal culture. Students also refined their leadership skills, camp cooking skills and interpersonal skills. Although it was cold and wet most of the time, the students had an awesome time and have made memories that will last for years to come.
Thank you to Mr Sanders, Mrs Doubell, Mr Cottrell, and Mrs Darch for all of their hard work in helping the students have such a great experience.
Here is what a few students had to say about the camp:
“Overall, camp was a pretty good experience. We all learnt a lot along the way, like we probably should have brought more than one towel, because you might need to use one to dry up your tent. But all in all, we all bonded and had a great time.”
“Outdoor Education camp this year was pretty fun. I made some funny memories and learned some things about the outdoors.”
“The Year 9 Outdoor Education camp was one of my favourite experiences this year. A great time to make new friends, build relationships with friends and build my confidence. An overall great experience that I would recommend for everyone.”
