Over the past 10 weeks, the Year 11 Drama class have been immersed into the world of Verbatim theatre.

With Beautiful Words as our set text, the students have been learning all about design roles, focusing on set and costume design, with some aiding in the lighting and sound design.

Our study culminated in a class production of Beautiful Words on 8th September, which they performed to an external audience made up of their family and friends. The play focuses on the journey of Roman and Jan, who meet as little boys in Auschwitz and are reunited a lifetime later.

Following three generations, the political turmoil in Afghanistan and the search for hope and a better future, we met several characters who journeyed towards self-discovery and creating a brighter future for the generations that follow.

Congratulations to the Year 11s for creating an entertaining performance that impacted their audience.
