Another term done and dusted! Amazing to think that this cohort has just over one year left of their schooling life. Term 2 has provided some exciting opportunities and events as well as some challenges.
Year 11 students took the opportunity to showcase their creativity and collaborative skills by designing their own unique leavers jackets. We formed a design committee and were able to narrow down five designs. The cohort will now vote on which design they want next year. We commend the effort of the committee and we are delighted by the fantastic designs they came up with!
Our Year 11 students recently completed their exams, and we congratulate them for their diligent preparation and commitment to their studies. This was a challenging period for all however the determination and resilience shown was fantastic to see.
We had two guest speakers this term come speak to the cohort on the topics of vaping and consent. These are two topics that are very relevant in our society at the moment. The well-being and health of our students are of utmost importance to us. Our aim when we book sessions like this is to give students the tools to make healthy decisions, be aware of the risks and to be positive citizens in our community.
As we approach the second half of the year, we have some exciting events that are coming up. We have the athletics carnival, house week and Rottnest Camp on the horizon. We are again looking forward to seeing our Year 11’s grow and mature as the year goes on.
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
Jeremiah 29:11
May this verse inspire and encourage our Year 11 students as they navigate the next steps of their journey, knowing that God has a plan for each of them.
Kind regards,
Stefan Botha
Head of Year 11
