CELEBRATING STUDENT SUCCESS AT META 2024: RAYNE AND VANORA’S ARTISTIC ACHIEVEMENTS

We are proud to announce that two of our talented students, Rayne and Vanora, had their artworks selected for the META exhibition at Gallery Central. This large-scale exhibition, organised by North Metropolitan TAFE, is a significant honour, showcasing the exceptional talents of Year 11 and 12 students from schools across Western Australia.

Rayne’s artwork, titled Shadows of the City, delved into the pressing issue of the homeless crisis, capturing the stark realities faced by those living on the streets. Through a unique artistic style, Rayne brought attention to the often-overlooked struggles of the homeless, making a powerful statement about urban life and social responsibility.

Vanora’s piece, The Genetic Lottery, explored the profound theme of the arbitrary nature of health. Her artwork reflects on how some individuals are fortunate to be born with functioning organs, while others are not, highlighting the randomness of life’s challenges. Vanora’s work is a reminder of the disparities in health and the luck of the draw in the genetic lottery.

Both Rayne and Vanora dedicated countless hours to their projects, experimenting with styles and techniques that are distinctly their own. Their hard work and creative exploration have not only earned them a place in this exhibition but also offered them an opportunity to share their perspectives on important social issues.

META 2024 provided an insightful glimpse into the hearts, minds, dreams, and fears of Western Australia’s future creatives. The selected works, including those by Rayne and Vanora, covered a broad range of concerns and artistic practices, reflecting the diverse talents of our young artists.

We congratulate Rayne and Vanora on this achievement.
