We are pleased to share our recent immersive workshop with artist Robyn Mccormick. This workshop provided Year 11 & 12 students with an opportunity to explore the art of portrait drawing. This workshop successfully refined their skills and deepened their understanding of portraiture, offering an enriching experience that has significantly contributed to their artistic development.
Throughout the session, students engaged in hands-on activities focused on the fundamental aspects of capturing human likenesses. Key elements such as proportion, shading, and expression were thoroughly explored, allowing students to practice and observe various techniques. This approach not only helped them grasp the essentials of portrait drawing but also enabled them to create realistic and expressive works of art. This workshop proved to be more than just a technical exercise; it was an opportunity for students to enhance their artistic abilities and build confidence in their drawing skills. By the end of the session, each student had completed a portrait drawing, gained valuable insights into the creative process, and sharpened their skills in a meaningful way. We are proud of the incredible portraits our students created and the artistic growth this workshop inspired.
