“What We’ve Been Up To!
At Kodomo, our children have been actively discovering, experimenting, and learning through a variety of engaging and fun activities.
Sustainability and Exploration
This term, the children have enjoyed exploring our garden and wild space, fostering curiosity and an understanding of sustainability. Through hands-on interactions with plants, soil, and natural materials, they are learning to care for the environment while developing observation and problem-solving skills.
Hands-On Learning and Sensory Experiences
Our learning program continues to focus on active, hands-on engagement, particularly through pre-writing activities involving shapes and various lines. Children also engage in sensory experiences, such as playing with sand, water, and engaging in tactile play, which promote fine motor skills, creativity, and cognitive development. These activities encourage exploration, experimentation, and discovery in a fun and meaningful way.”
Christmas-Themed Arts and Crafts
The children have enthusiastically engaged in Christmas-themed arts and crafts, exploring shapes, colours, patterns, and cutting. These activities not only bring festive cheer but also support the developmental milestones targeted for this term, including fine motor skills and creativity.
Kiddo Physical Activities
Physical development remains a key focus. Children have been practising hopping and kicking during movement sessions, helping to strengthen coordination, balance, and gross motor skills while promoting confidence and active participation.
Grandparents’ Day Celebration
Grandparents’ Day was a wonderful success! Grandparents actively participated in activities with the children, creating meaningful memories and strengthening connections between generations. Their involvement was greatly appreciated and added warmth and joy to the celebration.
