INCREDIBLE EXPERIENCE AT THE NINGALOO, EXMOUTH EXPEDITION

“On Sunday, 21st July, the Year 11 & 12 Outdoor Education students travelled to Ningaloo, Exmouth for our big expedition of the year. After a 17-hour bus journey, we arrived at Yardie Homestead Caravan Park where we camped for the duration of the trip.

This expedition was an incredible experience and we had the opportunity to do some awesome activities such as surfing, hiking, snorkelling and even swimming with the whale sharks. We also went to a bunch of amazing beaches such as Oyster Stacks and Turquoise Bay. At these beaches, we were lucky enough to swim with a wide variety of marine creatures such as stingrays, turtles and reef sharks.

My favourite and most memorable moments would be swimming with the whale sharks and finding turtles when we snorkelled at Turquoise Bay. The most challenging part of the expedition was the bus ride up and back as it was a 17 plus hour journey. There was also a lot of nerves before jumping into the ocean and swimming with the whale shark, but the relief and joy after were so worth it!”
