REMEMBRANCE DAY 2017 SERVICE

Secondary students assembled in the Church Hall for the 2017 Remembrance Day Service on Thursday, 9 November which was delivered by Mr Scott, the Secondary Careers Advisor, who himself served in the Royal Australian Navy for 30 years.   The theme of Mr Scott’s address was the 75th anniversary of the Battle for Australia.   Commodore Brett Dowsing RANR, the Senior Defence Force Officer in WA, delivered the keynote address and charged the students with the responsibility of taking over from his generation some time in the future, and reminding them that they should never forget the sacrifices that were made by so many to provide for the freedom we now enjoy as a nation, and as a community.    Also present was Chief Petty Officer Lee Webster, a former President of the WA Division of the HMAS Canberra-HMAS Shropshire Association, and grandfather of Year 8 student Abbie Sullivan.   Lest We Forget.
