This year, the Year 12 student leaders aim to make fundraising more meaningful. Our goal is to encourage students to understand where and to whom their donations are going. We want to promote empathy, provide perspective, and help develop well-rounded young people in our community.
We chose Compassion as our charity for this year. Additionally, the students voted to raise money for vital eye care for 405 Brazilian children. Our goal is to raise $11,000.
This semester, we held a ‘Dress for Charity’ day where students were encouraged to wear blue. On that day, we also held a sausage sizzle and raised $1,500. We recently sold Cadbury fundraising chocolate boxes; thank you to all the families who supported this effort.
Our total funds raised for the semester is $3,800. We are very grateful for all the generosity thus far. This coming semester, we have some big events planned, such as a combined Primary and Secondary Footy Colour Day. This rare whole-school event will allow Secondary and Primary students to support the same cause on the same day, promoting the development of our entire school culture as we work together to achieve a school-wide goal.
To reach our goal of $11,000, we need your support. Please continue to look out for student-led events and donate to our cause. We are very excited to hand over this money to Compassion at the end of the year and to become a school that values fundraising.
Thank you,
